What's New in Grade Point?

Below are the newest features and fixes in Grade Point, listed by version number. If your version of Grade Point doesn't have the features listed, you might want to consider upgrading.

Versions 7.1

Grade Point is now donateware/freeware.
Doubled space available to make e-mail entries for the teacher (SMTP server, SMTP port, teacher's e-mail address).
Doubled the size of the subject category field for assignments.
Added highlighting of current row and current column in the gradebook.

Grade Point Companion scores screen shot

Added Grade Point Companion, a grade book program that runs on your Palm™ based handheld device. You can now use your handheld to enter grading data and later hotsync to merge your data to Grade Point on your PC. This allows you to enter your grading data practically anywhere! You are no longer chained to your PC when you need to enter grades. Make good use of your time while riding in a car, waiting at the doctor, or waiting for a meeting to begin. Note: This feature required a redesign of the database used by Grade Point. Databases from previous versions are not compatible with version 7.
Added e-mail password and login required fields to teacher setup to make it easier to configure e-mailed progress reports.
Prorated the grading scale for the Cumulative grading method so progress reports provide feedback based on the number of points attempted so far, rather than the number of points possible by the end of the grading period.
Implemented error logging. It is now possible to send information about error messages that might occur by forwarding an error file that is automatically created by the program.
A printed grade book now prints the grading scale. (See Grade book Printing tab of the Reports Setup screen.)
Bug Fix: When touching grading periods on the Grading Periods tab of teacher setup, the grading period would change to the currently selected period in the Available Grading Periods grid. Then when you would move to another tab, the current period would be set on the last period selected. Instead, the current period should only change when the Current Period drop-down list is selected, as it now does.
