Grade Point Installation Instructions

To install Grade Point, follow the instructions below. Screen shots are for Internet Explorer 5.5 (which tells you that this page is a little old.) If you use a different web browser, (and I'm sure you do by now) your view may be different, but the concepts are the same. You might find it helpful to print this page as a reference before proceeding with the instructions.

1. Go to the Download Page and click on the link labeled Download a Free Copy. A dialog box will appear, giving you a choice of running the program or saving the program. Select the save option and click the OK button.

2. A Save As dialog will appear so you can choose where to save the installation file. For ease of use, select Desktop, then click the Save button. The name of the file you are saving is setup.exe. On some systems, the name may appear simply as setup.

(To select Desktop, click on the downward pointing arrow on the right side of the Save in field and select Desktop from the list that will drop down.)

3. A dialog box will appear indicating the progress of your download. When it says the download is complete, click the Close button.

4. Once the download finishes, you should find the setup.exe file on your desktop. Double-click it to run the setup program.

5. Follow the prompts in the setup program. If you are not sure how to respond to a prompt, it is safe to accept the choice you are offered and click the button labeled Next, OK, Yes, etc. When you are finished, you will find Grade Point listed on the Programs menu of your Start button, along with its help file and electronic manual. You may also find a Grade Point icon on your desktop, depending on the choices you made during setup.
