Keyboard Shortcuts

Consider using keyboard shortcuts instead of always relying on the mouse to perform operations. You might find that your entry work goes faster when your hands remain on the keyboard. Below are some keyboard shortcuts that work on the grid pages:

Keyboard Shortcuts

Tab, Shift+Tab:
Move right and left
Right Arrow, Left Arrow
Move right and left
End
Move to the end of a line
Ctrl + Right Arrow
Move to the end of a line
Home
Move to the beginning of a line
Ctrl + Left Arrow
Move to the beginning of a line
Up Arrow, Down Arrow
Move up and down
Enter
Move down
Page Up
Move to the previous screen full of students
Page Down
Move to the next screen full of students
Ctrl + Page Up
Move to the first visible student
Ctrl + Page Down
Move to the last visible student
Ctrl + Home
Move to the first student
Ctrl + End
Move to the last student


Line Wrap

When you are in the last cell of a student's line, pressing Tab takes you to the first cell of the next student's line. When you are in the last cell on the page, pressing Tab takes you to the first cell on the page

Column Wrap

When you are on the last student, pressing Enter takes you to the top of the next column.

Moving from Field to Field

The Tab and Shift + Tab keys can be used to move from one data control to the next. An exception to this is, once you are in the grid, the Tab key is used to move from cell to cell, and you can not use it to go to another control.

Other Navigational Aids

printbtnThe assignment entry fields, toolbar buttons and menu items are all assigned a shortcut key combination. For example, notice the underlined P that appears on the Print button's caption. Holding the Alt key while pressing the underlined character (in this case, P), is the same as clicking the button.
