About Folder Builder

Folder Builder quickly creates folders within a designated location, using an input file that contains the names of the folders to create. Best results are obtained with a tab-delimited file. In my tests, the program created 915 folders in about 5 seconds. Your network and the machine you use may give you different results.

License

Folder Builder is freeware. You may distribute it or use it freely, but you may not charge for it.

Versions

There are two versions: an older Windows-based version, and a Java-based version with some improved features. Although I've only tested the Java-based version on the Windows platform, in theory it should run on other platforms that support a current Java Virtual Machine.

Installing

Download the zip file using the download link at the left. There is no installer. Just extract the program and help file from the zip folder and place it wherever you want. (You can run it from anywhere.) For the Java version, read the section on installation within the included Adobe Acrobat (PDF) file.

Note: Included in the zip file are a sample input file and folder. Use them to see how quickly Folder Builder can create a batch of folders for you. See the readme.txt in the zip file for a quick start.
