No project is quite complete without some useless page that explains why a program exists. If this were an awards show, this is where I'd thank everyone I ever knew. But, really, I just wanted to mention why this program exists.

I wrote Folder Builder because I wanted to provide elementary teachers in my district a quick method of creating student folders within their classroom folder on the server. Because a tab-delimited file containing student information is produced for each teacher at the beginning of the year when creating gradebooks, I decided to create a program that would use those same files to quickly create student folders.

(In my district, it's common in elementary schools for each student in a class to use a classroom login, with each student having a folder within the classroom work area. At the secondary schools, students have individual logins, each with a separate work area.)

This program has uses for many folks, not just teachers. Anyone who needs to create a bunch of folders quickly will find it useful if a list of the folders to be created can be supplied.
