Calculating Distance, Total Sale, and Miles per Gallon

Keep Up automatically calculates the distance you have traveled between fillups, the total amount the fuel cost, and the miles per gallon you achieved. These calculations are reflected in the last three columns and are not editable. They occur after you post a fuel record. In order for calculations to be accurate, it is important that you:

·Record each purchase. If you skip a purchase, the distance traveled and the miles per gallon will be grossly inaccurate.
·Always fill your tank completely every time. If you don't completely fill your tank, the miles per gallon will be inaccurate.
·Don't forget the last digit when recording the price per gallon. We tend to say things like, "Gas is $2.29 a gallon!" It is probably really $2.299 (two dollars, twenty-nine and nine-tenths cents), or almost $2.30. If you don't enter the 9/10 of a cent, the total sale will be inaccurate.

If you use the Odometer Correction feature, the Distance and Miles per Gal figures will be adjusted to accurately reflect fuel consumption and distance.

Recalculating Fuel Records
If you edit a fuel record, only that record is automatically recalculated. Since a change in that record could affect all records above it, those records should be recalculated. This might produce undesirable lags in performance if the dependent records were recalculated automatically every time you edited a record, so automatic recalculation of the grid is not a feature. You can force a recalculation of the entire grid by clicking the Recalculate button.

Additional Mileage Points
Whenever a fuel record is posted, a mileage point is also created.
